Ukrainan tavern Hutorok is in Mustamäe, Tallinn. In the Golden Sixties and Seventies of the previous century, shops were located in such buildings, where Hutorok is now. It didn’t matter which city or town the store was in, the buildings looked exactly the same and the selection of goods sold inside was also identical.
Hutorok is in a suitable location, as the dishes are made of ingredients that were sold in those shops. Hutorok strongly adheres to Ukrainian traditions. The national dish vareniki is on the menu in so many ways that the selection is called a festival. With strong-tasting mustard and horseradish, a bit of spice can be added to any dish. Instead of newer wines, the food here is served with cranberry juice and stronger stuff – vodka made from different fruits.
Hutorok brought the timeless Ukrainian food and drink traditions to Tallinn.
