Rudolf Tobias Street in Kadriorg has two distinct sides. One looks dreary and dated with low wooden houses, while the taller stone buildings make the other side appear grand and contemporary. The street (and restaurant Rudolf) is named after the famous Estonian composer who is widely regarded to be one of the founding fathers of Estonian symphonic music. Rudolf Tobias continuously strived for grandeur in his music, and restaurant Rudolf does precisely the same with food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. You can probably guess which side of the street the restaurant is located.
There are a few other equally ambitious restaurants in Estonia, but all of them were established years ago. That’s why Rudolf came to the fore right from the first day. This attention is welcomed here, both by the restaurant itself and its guests. The luxurious atmosphere means that the only suitable drink to start any meal here (the restaurant is open from dusk till dawn) is champagne. Well, for the less sophisticated folk crémant will do. Peeking into the kitchen, you will see classic French dishes prepared and plated according to the latest trends. In case you didn’t know, classic is modern again.
