Timeless villa’s modern kitchen

The nearly one-hundred-year-old villa in the city of Pärnu looks timeless, blending in with the surroundings rather than standing out. The same can’t be said of the villa’s restaurant. It doesn’t fit inside, spreading out to the glass-walled veranda and the terrace behind it. Food first pleases the eye and then tickles the taste buds.

Cuisine in Villa Wesset is head chef Mark Kukk’s author cuisine. His way of preparing food is distinguished by the fact that in every dish there is an ingredient that others wouldn’t use. Even in the simplest ones. For example, smoked sour cream gives an unusual taste to borscht. Add it generously to the soup, the more you add the more different the taste gets. Similarly, the flavour nuances the beef tartar are allowed to shine, because it is served with an especially discreetly flavoured poppadom.

The timeless villa restaurant attracts so many guests with its modern cuisine that there are always more people sitting in the restaurant than the villa can accommodate.
