If we had to choose one word to describe the restaurant squeezed into the semi-basement of a house, it would be noisy. In the first room every table is chef’s table not only because you can see everything going on in the kitchen, but it is also actually within reach. In the backroom you will inevitably eavesdrop on the conversations of people next to you because the tables are so close together.
The food here is so eclectic you won’t find anything similar anywhere else. Korean-style beef tartar, Japanese-style omelette, Mongolian-style roast beef, Argentinian-style Picanha and Kenyan-style calf kidneys. The ever-changing menu is inspired by the restaurant family’s many food trips to other parts of the world.
Salt is a restaurant for people who have travelled the world and experienced a lot of exotic flavours themselves. Then bumping elbows with the people at the next table isn’t uncomfortable or the overheard conversations frightening. They become reasons to come to Salt.
