Museum restaurant Rondeel promises to serve local food in an interpretation that can only be found in Narva and most certainly delivers on that promise. The border between Estonia and Russia not only separates the counties, but also acts as a distinct line between the two cuisines. Despite being right by the border, Rondeel does not pick sides and instead combines both cuisines into something that can only exist in Narva. Their take on Estonian spiced sprats is delicately spiced and served on a pillow of red onion with turmeric-flavoured pickled garlic scattered on top. The dish makes your mouth burn and those in the know recommend washing it down with Narvia Märzen. This tangy and fruity beer is brewed right here in Narva and is the only suitable match for local food. The unparalleled Narva flavours linger on your palate for a while and in your memories for even longer. If you don’t believe us you will have to try it yourself!
