Experience the sea on dry land
There are two correct ways to come to Hafen – either by boat from the sea or on foot from elsewhere in Kuressaare. Either way allows you to experience the magnificent sea views and helps you get in the right mood even before stepping through the door.
Food in Hafen is as you might expect. Guests from overseas can try out herring caught by islanders with local quail eggs and Muhu bread. That is, the food the islanders eat at home. Locals might be curious about what a poke bowl, bao or any other exotic dish might taste like.
The only appropriate drink in Hafen is gin. You can choose from a wide variety of gins from across the world or opt for the local Lahhentagge. Juniper-covered Saaremaa is the best place in the world to get to know the different nuances of juniper-based drinks.
