The temperament of Estonians and Italians is like night and day. At least that was the case last year, probably not anymore. It seemed that the trattoria founded by the Italian chef Nicolo Tanda, who had been operating in Estonia for twelve years and had brought a lot of international fame to Estonia, would also retire after the meritorious chef retired. But the opposite happened. Last autumn, a completely new staff came to the restaurant (let’s be honest, one of the chefs who has worked here since the opening of the restaurant stayed). A large olive tree was placed in the middle of the dining room, and tablecloths were changed. That was all the change it took for a tired trattoria to get its spark back. True, the new staff had already worked together long enough to make one fine dining restaurant the best in Estonia for several years. In La Bottega, they probably live out all the emotion that had to be kept in check in the previous place. When the restaurant family has especially liked the audience, they thank the good guests with an energetic dance performance. By then, everyone has forgotten that they came here for the best Italian food and drink in town, not to be teleported to an Estonian-style Italy.
