Flying Again

When cafe Komeet opened its doors a few years ago, guests could feel like they were floating in the air here. Literally, the floor-to-ceiling windows offer an enchanting view of the Estonian Opera Theatre from top to bottom and a panoramic view of the entire city from the roof terrace. Since then, the owners of the cafe have changed several times, but the name and views are still the same.

Currently, Komeet no longer seems to fit into the concept of a café. Three different menu cards are presented to as you sit down at the table. One is indeed that of a café, the second is more lounge-like, and the third is definitely that of a restaurant.

Despite all the changes over time, there is still a sprat sandwich and lamb patty on the menu. The most important of the latest innovations is that ingredients are now mainly bought from local organic farms. Also, the drink card has an awe-inspiring selection of local but especially carefully selected drinks. Taste the strawberry-rhubarb wine from the Habaja distillery as an aperitif, the nettle wine digestif from the same manufacturer or a cocktail with some Junimperium gin and tonic, and interest in drinks made elsewhere will disappear as if by magic.

Immediately after its opening, Komeet was considered a real comet in the Estonian food sky. Now, after years of silence, Komeet flies again.
