Until quite recently, it was inconceivable that an amateur could do something on an equal or even better level than a professional. However, times are changing and now everything comes down to passion. Food blogger Andra Kalda evolved from a food lover to a professional preparing food and took her family with her. Together they began to cook food for others.
Family restaurant Kastrul is run with knowledge and passion. With its neighbours Saiakas and Kohvila, the restaurant forms a combination you can’t find anywhere else in Pärnu. Perhaps a little reminiscent of Telliskivi in Tallinn or an Aparaaditehas in Tartu.
The dishes of Kastrul fit perfectly into the atmosphere here. They have familiar and understandable names. Flavour-wise much better than food prepared by people who do it solely for sustenance, not for the love of cooking. And some even look picturesque.
